Valentine's Day Getaway Deals

Cameron Huddleston

Save money on hotels and airfare if you're planning a romantic escape.

Football fans might have their sights set on the Super Bowl February 6 -- but their significant others might be thinking ahead a week to February 14, Valentine's Day. Turns out, though, that more men would rather spend money on a romantic getaway with their significant other than a trip to see the biggest football game of the year, according to a survey by online bank ING DIRECT.

Of those surveyed, 57% said they'd spend $500 or more for a romantic getaway compared with 27% who said they would spend the same amount to go to the Super Bowl. So if you're seriously contemplating a Valentine's trip with your honey, here's a roundup of deals to romantic destinations:

Kayak has a long list of romantic travel deals to Italy, France, the Caribbean and more.

You can save up to 30% on hotel stays in cities across the U.S. with the Hotels.com Valentine's Day sale.

Travelocity is advertising up to 50% off on weekend stays at Hilton Worldwide hotels if you book by January 31.

Tablet Hotels lists the top ten hotels for romance, six of which are offering discounted rates now.

Delta Air Lines is having a Valentine's sale on travel February 10 through 15. The fares may seem high, but, according to Airfarewatchdog.com, these are the lowest fares along these routes (because airlines usually hike ticket prices over Valentine's Day).

If you don't get around to planning a romantic getaway until after the big game, you can find last-second deals to romantic destinations at Lastminute.com.
