UPDATE: A Head Start for Tax Rebates

How to Make Your Tax Rebate Go Further

The IRS originally announced that electronic deposits to taxpayers bank accounts would begin Friday, May 2. Paper checks for taxpayers who did not have 2007 tax refunds directly deposited in their bank accounts will be sent starting May 9, also a week ahead of schedule.

The order of the payments will depend on the last two digits of your Social Security number. To estimate when your rebate check should arrive, see When to Expect Your Rebate Check. (The dates listed are based on the original schedule from the IRS. You can expect your money at least a week early, or maybe even sooner.)
