Online Help for Military Families

The negative publicity and massive settlements associated with First Command, American-Amicable and other cases have led to a push to provide financial education and resources for military families.

1) Saveandinvest.org alerts military families to active scams, includes advice on saving and investing, and gives resources for checking out advisers. The Protecting Your Money section links to the Military Homefront Commanders page, which lists businesses banned from military bases.

2) Militarymoney.com offers advice on all aspects of personal finance for military families, plus links to information about discount and support programs.

3) The SEC's military page provides details about large enforcement actions regarding military sales practices as well as information on affinity fraud and investing.
