Karen Harding, CFA
Karen Harding is a Partner and the Team Leader of NEPC’s Private Wealth Practice Group. She is also a member of NEPC’s Governance Board, the Partners Research Committee and Women’s Leadership Forum. She has provided over 27 years of investment advisory services to wealthy families and individuals, advising clients to set strategies, develop policies and construct customized portfolios to meet their needs.
Working with UHNW individuals, families and family offices, Karen understands the importance of working with clients and using their existing network of financial professionals to better understand their goals, ambitions and legacies. Understanding those key priorities, in turn, allows NEPC's consultants to act as an extension of their client’s team and serve as a trusted partner rather than an external vendor. The team offers a full range of investment services and strategies across public and private markets, customized to support their client's objectives.
Before joining NEPC, Karen spent 21 years at CTC|myCFO and its predecessor companies, serving in several leadership roles. Most recently, she served as Managing Director and Co-Head of the Investment Advisory Services team, chaired the Investment Advisory and Fiduciary Services Management Committee and was a key executive team member.
Karen is a CFA charter holder and member of the CFA Society of Portland. She currently serves on the Investment Committee of the Oregon Community Foundation, helping to oversee nearly $2 billion in assets dedicated to improving the lives of all Oregonians. She earned her B.A. with highest honors in finance and minors in economics, French and Russian from Oregon State University and an MBA with honors from Portland State University in Oregon.
Karen has recently been quoted in Financial Advisor and U.S. News & World Report.
You can find Karen gardening, boating and traveling with her husband and three children during her free time.
